This text is a chapter from “Inspiring Mathematics. Lessons from the Navajo Nation Math Circles,“published by the American Mathematical Society (edited by Dave Auckly, Bob Klein, Amanda Serenevy, and Tatiana Shubin). Every chapter of the book has been used many times as a basis for math circle sessions at various schools in the Four Corners area and at Dine College and Navajo Prep summer camps.
