Donna Fernandez

Donna Fernandez is Pomo from Elem Indian Colony from Clearlake Oaks, CA. She is a National Board Certified Teacher of Mathematics for Adolescents and Young Adults. Donna has earned a Master of Education degree in Advanced Teaching from the University of the People. She has a BA in Mathematics and a BA in Native American Studies from the University of California, Davis. She has 15 years of experience as a secondary math teacher. Donna is a Sequoiah Fellow with the American Indian Science and Engineering Society. Educating Native American youth to provide them with opportunities is her passion.

I am the Math Circle Academy Coordinator and Instructor at Tuba City Boarding School. Currently, I teach Mathematics and Sciences at the Thunderbird Academy at Tuba City Boarding School.
I have served in the United States Marine Corps and have participated in educating adult learners at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado and high school students with an Upward Bound Program as well as a number of other community outreach projects that empower our youth and mold young minds. I have devoted my life to helping underserved students and making their education positively meaningful and enjoyable. Craig serves the Central/North Central Arizona region.
